Blythe Doll Info

Hi, me and my best friend have recently discovered the wonderful, Blythe Doll!

In the 1970s, the blythe doll was created by designer "Allison Katzman" and marketed in the USA.
Due to lack of interest, blythe dolls were only sold for one year. She is a wide-eyed,  big-headed doll with a string placed at her spine, that you pull and she blinks and her eye color changes. You can fix her up so she just closes her eyes as she blinks. 27 years later in 1997, a New York TV and video producer, Gina Garan was given a 1972 kenner blythe from her from a friend, to practice her photography skills on. Gina had begun taking her blythe doll everywhere and had taken thousands of photo's. In 1999, she was introduced to CWC's Junko Wong by artist and illustrator, jeffery fulvimari which brought Blythe to the attention of Parco and toy executives. In 2000, Gina published her first book of Blythe photography with chronicle books, "This I Blythe". In 2001 Hasbro gave Takara of Japan a license to produce the New Edition of Neo Blythe. The Blythe Doll was once used in a TV advertising campaign
by Parco, the fashion branch of "Seibu Department Stores" in Japan and was an instant hit.

The year of 2003, Blythe was the subject in segement on the VH1 special, I Love The 70s. She was said to look like a Barbie, with elephantitus.
I hope you learnt some things from this post, and i put it all in my own words!
